Disable System Restore

PROBLEM
Your antivirus program keeps on detecting a virus or spy/adware in a System Volume Information / Restore location on your harddrive.

SOLUTION / ADVICE
System Restore is a component of Microsoft's Windows Me, Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems that allows for the rolling back of system files, registry keys, installed programs, etc., to a previous state in the event of malfunctioning or failure.

Our suggestion is to disable System Restore permanently, because it's also a place which virus/adware exploits.
- right click on My Computer
- select the system restore tab
- select "Disable system restore on all volumes"
- click on Apply and then OK
